In January 2026, Maoz Inon and Aziz Abu Sarah carried the Olympic torch through Verona. For the first time in history, an Israeli Jew and an Israeli Palestinian did so together. It was yet another symbol created by these two men in their commitment to peace. Both have lost family members and friends in the decades-long conflict; both work in the tourism industry in Israel; and both are tireless peace activists. Together, they have written a book, The Future is Peace, which became a New York Times bestseller immediately upon its release in April of this year. For over two years now, Maoz Inon and Aziz Abu Sarah have also been spreading their message internationally on many occasions.
