Eric Clapton gehört seit beinahe 60 Jahren zur Elite der Rockmusik. Als Gitarrist, als Komponist und als Sänger setzte er Maßstäbe - in so unterschiedlichen Formationen wie den Yardbirds, Cream oder Blind Faith schrieb er Musikgeschichte. Seine Solo-Karriere in den 70er Jahren bescherte ihm zahlreiche Hits und ein hohes Ansehen sowohl der Blues- wie der Rockfans. „Layla“, „I shot the sheriff“, „Wonderful tonight” und “Tears in heaven” sind neben vielen anderen Liedern ins kollektive Musikgedächtnis eingegangen.
